Where can I find a public toilet?
 

Many businesses offer a public toilet (quick service restaurants and gas stations); however, the North Sydney BIDA also has place a porta-pottie on the waterfront area near Anchor Ice Cream.

What options are available for public transport?
 

North Sydney is serviced by Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM) Transit.  See schedule here.  This service offers transport to various towns within the CBRM. 
 

Transport outside of CBRM to other larger communities on the island and to stops on the mainland are offered by Maritime Bus Service.  Link to schedule here.
 

Various shuttle companies have pick-ups in North Sydney.  These include:  Cape Breton Shuttle, Island Shuttle and Ceilidh Shuttle.

Where can I purchase medical necessities, groceries and liquor?
 

Brewer’s Convenience offers some quick service food items, etc.  Larger grocery/retail chains, such as Sobeys, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart and Nova Scotia Liquor Commission, can be found on King Street, North Sydney, which is approximately a 15 minute walk from downtown.
 

Where can I park downtown?
 

Street parking is offered at no charge.  In addition, there is a large public parking lot at Archibald Wharf, just behind the Royal Bank.
 

Are there accommodation options available?
 

Yes, North Sydney is home to Hotel North, the Clansman Motel, Chambers B&B, Dove House B&B, Swan House B&B, in addition to a number of Airbnbs found online.
